Carmelo Anthony was able to keep his once-dying career alive in the NBA after the Portland Trail Blazers gave him a fighting chance. However, his contract will expire at the end of this season and there is no guarantee that he will remain with the Blazers.

Although he has proved to be an asset as a veteran for them, Melo now might have other off-court opportunities to focus and rely on if his career as an NBA player ends. In fact, LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Dwyane “The Rock” Johnson are the inspiration behind his new venture.

Movies and TV shows always have a huge impact on people while growing up, and Carmelo Anthony is not immune to the effects of the entertainment world either. So the 37-year-old has now launched a production house called ‘Creative 7’ to give back to this field. This isn’t the first time NBA players have involved themselves with production companies.

LeBron James‘ production company, SpringHill Entertainment, is responsible for the upcoming ‘Space Jam’ sequel. Even Dwyane Wade, with his production banner, 59th and Prairie Entertainment, has a multi-year deal at WarnerMedia. However, Melo has revealed that the biggest role model behind this huge step has been Dwayne Johnson.

He stated, “Honestly, the way that Dwayne Johnson has approached the business is unparalleled. He came at it with the approach that he was just going to do the work, build a legacy and let his resume speak for itself. He put in the hard work and the commitment to change the game, and has continued to chart a path that is all his own.”

The purpose behind launching this company is to bring out inclusive narratives that haven’t gotten the chance and exposure that they deserve. Also, the name Creative 7 has drawn inspiration from Melo’s famous New York Knicks Jersey number, which he wore for six years from 2011 to 2017.

There are many exciting projects that Creative 7 plans on rolling out. From a TV show with Will Packer, and collaborations with Brad Pitt’s Plan B, Melo is off to a great start already.
