The turbulence for LeBron James’ Lakers continues this season. In their latest matchup, the ‘King’ and his men fell short to the Houston Rockets in an overtime loss. To make matters worse, the Rockets have the worst league record and the Lakers are hanging by a thread for playoff contention. Although LeBron would earn a triple-double, it was not enough to stop the Houston Rockets who took over in OT. Following the game, Lakers’ legend James Worthy had a few harsh comments on the intent of the team and its possible future.

In light of this, Carmelo Anthony responded in support of LeBron and his team. In the post game interview, he explained his disagreement with James Worthy and stated the intent of the Lakers.

When asked about what he felt regarding Worthy’s comments on the Lakers, Carmelo Anthony had the following to say.

“I respect James to the utmost and that’s his opinion, man. He’s been around this game for a long time. He’s earned the right to have an opinion,” said Melo.

“I don’t understand. I totally disagree with him. But I don’t think we come in saying we’re losing or we’re trying to figure out how not to lose and things like that,” he explained.

Thereafter, Melo added that the best thing the Lakers could do is not let the effect of a loss, especially after a close game, ‘carry over’ to the future. Clearly, he still has belief in his team.

After a brutal run with OKC and the Rockets, Melo went off the radar and was out of the league too. However, he bounced back with a decent run on the Trail Blazers, and now on the Lakers. Coming off the bench, Melo has contributed with his scoring and rebounding. He even scored the dagger three-pointer in the Lakers’ recent win over the Warriors.
