Brittney Griner was recently released by Russia after ten months in captivity in exchange for Viktor Bout. Many celebrities and fans voiced their support to free Griner ever since her detainment. So when she was finally released, many shared their excitement and celebrated her return home. After her release, Griner made the news almost every day, and a hilarious video clip of her from a couple of years back resurfaced. The video clip of the Phoenix Mercury star kissing NBA superstar Kevin Durant.

Durant and Griner represented the men’s and women’s national teams respectively in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. The Olympics is a huge opportunity for high-profile athletes from different sports around the world to meet each other. Also, the opening and closing ceremonies are a spectacle.

The Olympics is a festival no less. So Kevin Durant was excited to be a part of that celebration. After the opening ceremony, Durant went live on Instagram to show his fans what was happening around the Olympics village. Brittney Griner and a few other U.S. athletes were with him. He asked Griner to say hello to the fans during the live. She said hello and then hilariously kissed him on the cheek as a prank as per a report from Marca.

While other athletes around them laughed at it, Durant was a bit shaken. He replied, “You’re lucky I love you girl.”

The two-time NBA champion and Griner are very close friends. Durant once stated that the two would hang around during the Olympics and play card games now and then.
