Bulls All Star Opens Up To Draymond Green About How His Father Inspired His NBA Career: “Dude’s Crazy, But He Got Me To Where I Had To Go”

There are a lot of up-and-coming players in the NBA right now. Zach LaVine is one of those players who is trying to make a legacy for himself. Zach LaVine, a player of the Chicago Bulls, is dominating offensively. At the age of 26, he has already established himself as one of the league’s star players.

Zach LaVine always gives props to his father for paving the way to his NBA career. His father, Paul LaVine was extremely crucial in his life. He pushed Zach to always be better. Zach’s father recognized his potential at an early age and always pushed him to achieve that potential.

Zach LaVine talked about his father and how he helped him shape his career on “The Draymond Green Talk Show“. He mentioned “Dude’s crazy, but he got me to where I had to go“. This was a testament to the fact that his father helped him achieve the dream of being an NBA star.

Zach LaVine’s potential

Paul LaVine spotted Zach’s talent at a very young age. Since Zach was in third grade, his father worked relentlessly with his kid. He set up together training programs for him and trained him to his best capabilities.

In an interview with Zach’s father on NBA.com, he said, “in second grade, he was going to the park to play sixth-grade kids for money. He’d come home proud about $10. He always was playing two, three, four years ahead.”

LaVine was the No. 13 overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft after playing at UCLA. LaVine is a relentless player who keeps improving his game every season. His unique athletic ability has made him one of the best rim slashers in the league. Ever since he has joined the Bulls, he has consistently improved his shooting percentage and the number of points he scores.

Zach has always had a love for the game of basketball. “He wanted to do it. I never had to tell him you have to go out and shoot; he just wanted to,” said Paul.

Zach LaVine’s father always had his back

Zach LaVine recalls an incident from his school days. On career day when he said he wanted to be an NBA star, he was met with reluctance from his teachers. They wanted him to pick something more realistic and attainable. After this incident, his father went to the school.

“Me and my wife went to school and said that was my son’s dream, so don’t mess it up; that’s what he wants to be,” said Paul.

LaVine loves his parents and acknowledges the role they had in him becoming an NBA star. Over the years, his game has just improved by a huge extent. He has had a huge impact on the Bulls organization and the game in general.
