Zach LaVine’s potential
Paul LaVine spotted Zach’s talent at a very young age. Since Zach was in third grade, his father worked relentlessly with his kid. He set up together training programs for him and trained him to his best capabilities.
In an interview with Zach’s father on NBA.com, he said, “in second grade, he was going to the park to play sixth-grade kids for money. He’d come home proud about $10. He always was playing two, three, four years ahead.”
LaVine was the No. 13 overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft after playing at UCLA. LaVine is a relentless player who keeps improving his game every season. His unique athletic ability has made him one of the best rim slashers in the league. Zach LaVine recalls an incident from his school days. On career day when he said he wanted to be an NBA star, he was met with reluctance from his teachers. They wanted him to pick something more realistic and attainable. After this incident, his father went to the school.
“Me and my wife went to school and said that was my son’s dream, so don’t mess it up; that’s what he wants to be,” said Paul.
LaVine loves his parents and acknowledges the role they had in him becoming an NBA star. Over the years, his game has just improved by a huge extent. He has had a huge impact on the Bulls organization and the game in general.
