Kyrie Irving is a world-class player and easily one of the best to have graced the sport. Despite all the controversy and noise surrounding him, Irving puts on a show whenever he’s out on the court. It’s a shame that we do not get to see more of this generational player. Irving is also a role model to several people who do not follow the norms of society. He’s a hero to the voiceless.
But do you know who Irving’s role model is? It is American rapper and song writer, J Cole. The rapper is an ace at storytelling through rap and he has inspired Irving to stand out and not follow the herd. Irving has always been different, and he has always stood for what he believes in, despite the cost he has had to pay.

Kyrie recently put out a tweet with Cole’s lyrics which symbolized what Kyrie stood for. He said, “My lowest moments came from trying too hard to impress some people that couldn’t care if I’m on Therefore from here on out, my hair grow out I care nothin’ bout opinions”.

Irving has always been an outspoken player in the league. Despite all his critics in the media, Irving has refused to abandon his beliefs and followers. And he has stuck to it, despite being banned from playing basketball, a sport which he loves dearly. He doesn’t give a hoot about the opinions from the media and the only people he cares about are his teammates and his family. Which is exactly what J Cole stands for.
