The Memphis Grizzlies’ pursuit of the Larry O’Brien trophy was cut short after the Los Angeles Lakers eliminated them in the 1st round. LeBron James‘ Lakers dominated the series and defeated Ja Morant and co. in six games. Shortly after losing to LA Lakers with a 40-point deficit in Game 6, a Grizzlies star took to Twitter and shared a cryptic post that left the NBA world in chaos. However, the air was cleared soon enough, which in turn, drew hilarious reactions from Grizzlies teammates Desmond Bane and Morant.

Despite being the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference, Memphis faced disappointment against the 7th-seeded Lakers. After all the trash talk throughout the year and some off-court controversies, the Grizzlies will be disappointed that they couldn’t live up to their word.

Less than a week after getting kicked out of the playoffs, 23-year-old Jaren Jackson Jr. took to Twitter and shared an update regarding his tenure with the Memphis Grizzlies. In his tweet, Jackson Jr. wrote, “Memphis I’m forever grateful.” With no prior reports or speculations regarding any Grizzlies trade, Jackson Jr.’s tweet came as a shock to the NBA world.

Following the mayhem that later ensued, the 2023 All-Star posted a follow-up tweet where he provided further explanation. Well, not really an explanation, but his three-word tweet was enough to clear the air. He wrote, “to be here”. Jackson Jr.’s second tweet effectively established that there was no trade that was taking place out of the blue.
