So far, the Los Angeles Lakers seem to be living last season once again. Their roster started with one of the worst offenses in NBA history. However, since then, things have started to come into place. Firstly, Russell Westbrook has finally found his place with the 17-time champions. Moreover, in their win against the Detroit Pistons, the purple and gold saw two of their stars return to action. Back from the depths of injury, Dennis Schroder announced his comeback on Instagram. However, former teammate Kyle Kuzma took a rather bold approach to call out the Lakers.
Kuzma was a formidable force for the Lakers at the beginning of his career. Averaging 18.7 points and 5.5 rebounds in only his second season with the Lakers, the now Washington Wizards forward played an integral role in their 2020 championship run. Moreover, Kuzma was the only youngster who made the cut when the Lake Show traded for Anthony Davis. But as soon as he had an embarrassing post-season run, he was driven out of LA.

Likewise, Kyle Kuzma seems to hold that memory to this day. Today, the Wizards hold a better record than the Lakers. And the power forward made sure to troll his former franchise.
Kuzma mocks the Lakers
Apart from the obvious problems, the Los Angeles Lakers suffered a plague of injuries. Two of their stars, Dennis Schroder and Thomas Bryant were yet to play a single game until their battle with the Pistons. Suiting up for the first time, the German guard excitedly posted on his Instagram. However, no one could predict what Kuzma would comment on his former teammate’s post.

Notably, he publicly mocked the Lakers. He commented: “Save the season”. Schroder himself was hit with surprise at Kuzma’s forwardness. However, the main wrath came later when the Laker Nation got a look at his antics.
Here are some of the reactions from NBA Twitter:

A look at the first 13 games of the Lakers would possibly show their unpreparedness going into the season. However, things seem to be slowly starting to take shape for the purple and gold. With Westbrook having fun being the leader of the second unit and their injury list starting to clear up, it perhaps isn’t too late for the 17-time champs to hope for a bounce back and salvage the season. Moreover, their schedule matches them up against multiple teams under .500.

With LeBron James getting close to his return on the court and Anthony Davis playing like one of the most dominant players again, exciting things could be in store for Lakers fans.
