Phoenix Mercury star Brittney Griner is all over the news currently. She started making headlines when she was a prospect coming into the WNBA draft.

However, her actions on the basketball court are not the primary reason behind all the criticism she is facing. Griner was detained in Russia a few months ago when the officials detained her for carrying illegal drugs.
