Dawn Staley said:? “Every day I think about Brittney Griner. Every day I think about you know what she is thinking about, what her family is thinking about. I just hope she doesn’t lose hope. We have to be her hope, we have to be her prayers when she probably questions her faith.”

The concerns are mainly stemming from the unfortunate updates on a potential prisoner swap. Notably, Joe Biden was in midst of negotiating a way to bring Brittney Griner and another US marine, Paul Whelan, back home. However, disappointing news reached the sports community when Russia reportedly displayed little interest to entertain the prisoner swap deal with Washington. It’s still unclear about the direction Biden and the US officials are moving towards. However, the President has made it clear, his top priority lies in bringing back the Phoenix Mercury center.
