NBA legend Charles Barkley is one of the nicest personalities in the sporting world. Chuck, as he is affectionately called, is a fan favorite for various reasons. Not only is he known for his antics with fellow NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal, but Barkley is an overall nice guy. He recently appeared on The Steam Room podcast with Inside the NBA fame Ernie Johnson. Interestingly, it seems this was their last episode of this season.
The final episode of the podcast was emotional for more than one reason. Barkley and Johnson bid adieu to one of their closest friends and a long-time producer of the show. Moreover, an emotional Chuck divulged into details about one of his charities dedicated to serving the veterans.

The plight of the country’s veterans has been a hotly debated topic over the years. While the people keep on arguing about their situation, Barkley is one of them who takes action.
The 1993 NBA MVP has multiple charities under his name. One of them happens to be ‘Wounded Warriors’ which is dedicated to serving the veterans.
On the latest episode of The Steam Room podcast, a fan asked Chuck and Ernie which answering machine question was the closest to their heart. Wasting no time, the Phoenix Suns legend asserted that it was the time he received a call from a veteran.
Barkley said, “One of my charities is wounded warriors and it really bothers me hard how the government don’t take care of veterans. There was a veteran who said he was really suffering from PTSD and he said he was really having a hard time. “
Additionally, the Round Mound of Rebound revealed that the veteran thanked the guys for ‘brightening’ his days. It seems like he was going through a rough patch during that time.
Not only the veterans, but Barkley has helped other people in society as well. Charities like Ante Up For Africa, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and ENOUGH Project are all funded by the NBA Hall of Famer.

Barkley, who once changed the perception of a role model, has a net worth of $60 million. Needless to say, he spends a huge chunk of his money on charities that are dedicated to helping the ones in need.
Chuck has a huge salary thanks to his association with ‘Inside the NBA’. The 6-foot-6 inches tall Hall of Famer earns a whopping amount yearly from salaries alone.
