The first match of the NBA Finals 2022 is just a few hours away and everyone is excited. People have already chosen sides and began making predictions on who is going to lift this year’s title. One big name that has made major predictions for this series is NFL legend, Shannon Sharpe. What does Shanon believe?
Shannon Sharpe has confidence in Boston due to multiple reasons. He believes Boston?s bench has more depth and would have better players on the court at any time in the game. While he does mention that the Golden State Warriors would have an experience advantage. Although from an athleticism point of view, Boston is ahead of the Warriors.
Why are people picking Jayson Tatum’s Celtics over the Warriors?
Many fans and even experts believe that the Warriors had an easy way to the Finals in comparison to the Celtics. The Denver Nuggets were injured and the Memphis Grizzlies didn’t have Ja Morant. And they had the home-court advantage in the first two games against the Dallas Mavericks.
On the other hand, the Celtics swept the Brooklyn Nets compromising of Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant and defeated last year’s champions, the Milwaukee Bucks. They also had a hard battle against the Miami Heat. If we compare both of these storylines, the Warriors path does sound like an easy path.

Along with that, all the players had shown great chemistry on the Celtics. Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart have stepped forward when the team needed them. On the contrary, Klay Thompson from the Warriors is yet to find his rhythm. He has given a few exceptional performances, but only in a handful of games. In the rest of the games, he has struggled.
