Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic is no stranger to technical fouls. He is also known for his constant arguments with the referees. The Mavericks star’s recent performances impressed the NBA world. Moreover, the Star guard surpassed the legends like Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan by scoring 60 points,21 rebounds, and 10 assists against New York Knicks, the first ever in NBA. Despite breaking an NBA record in the last game, the 23-year-old could land into serious trouble for technical fouls. Doncic could land a suspension if he continues to play in this fashion.

Luka Doncic, the Slovenian youngster, made his NBA debut in 2018 for the Mavericks. He also went on to win the Rookie of the year for the 2018-19 NBA season. Adding to his promising performances, he also attracts a lot of fouls.

During the Thursday night game against the Houston Rockets, Luka Doncic picked up a technical foul despite him bleeding. At the end of the third quarter, the Mavericks had a comfortable lead against the Rockets. That’s when the Rockets’ Usman Garuba trying to defend the ball, stepped on Doncic’s head in the fall.

When the Mavericks guard argued with the referee, he was slapped with yet another technical foul, the ninth of the season. He joins Kevin Durant, Dillon Brooks, and Draymond Green on the list of players having more than seven technical fouls in the season.

As per the NBA rules, a player would receive a one-game suspension if he lands 16 technical fouls in the regular season. Most notably, Doncic made 17 technical fouls in the last season. According to a Marca article, NBA rescinded one of his fouls where he yelled at his own teammate. The referee misunderstood it as Luka yelling at him. However, the fans are upset over the quality of judgment on the technical foul call on the Mavericks star. Some fans took this on a lighter note and shared their reaction via Twitter.

Though the online fans made fun of the the on-court drama, the Mavericks continue to dominate as they get on a three-win streak after defeating the Rockets (129-114). Doncic led the team to victory with 35 points, 12 rebounds, and 13 assists.
