Damian Lillard is one of the best players in the NBA today. The Portland Trail Blazers guard has proven, on several occasions, that he is a dangerous man. Lillard has a tendency to make shots when his team needs it most. Currently, Lillard is on a hot streak, and is playing at a high level this season. And now, he is close to surpassing Michael Jordan in this incredible feat.

Damian Lillard scored 40 points in his game against the Kings, with no turnovers. He has now had 5 games with 40+ points and no turnovers, the third-most in NBA history. He is now only behind Anthony Davis and Michael Jordan on this list; the latter had 14 games like this throughout his entire career. It would be a safe bet to expect Lillard to at least come close to him.

Lillard surpassed such NBA greats as Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal in the number of games he has had 40+ points and 0 turnovers. Given the number of years these two legends played in the NBA, it is truly an impressive accomplishment. And given how lethal a scorer Lillard is, it is very possible for him to continue having games like these.
This season, Damian Lillard has been fantastic. Currently, he is averaging 29 points and 8 assists per game. For the year, Lillard is currently an MVP contender and earned yet another All-Star nomination for his career. Lillard is considered one of the frontrunners for the MVP race along with LeBron James and Joel Embiid. If he can help the Blazers to the playoffs, he has a strong chance to win the prestigious individual accolade.

Lillard is one of the most clutch players in the NBA today. His ability to make important shots during the dying moments of the game is unlike we have seen before. Lillard is also a solid three-point shooter, averaging close to 38% this season. Whenever the game is on the line and the Trail Blazers need a hero, Lillard steps up without fail.
