Mark Cuban has been involved with the NBA for a long time. He has been running the Dallas Mavericks for more than two decades. He is one of the most active owners in the league and attends most of their games. Cuban acquired the franchise in 2000 and has not turned his back on them for a single moment.
The Mavericks may have had a topsy turvy record with the former Broadcast.net owner but there is no denying that the passion that he carries for the team is genuine. He is also considered to be one of the “cooler” billionaires. But before being one, he was getting his dates stolen by a young Bill Gates.

Cuban revealed on the ‘Full Send Podcast’ about what happened between him and Microsoft founder Gates. He stated that he was attending Comdex which was the biggest technology trade show in the world in Las Vegas. “I just thought I was a badass,” said Cuban, “I’m hanging with these girls and this was right when Microsoft had gone public. So one day nobody knows who Bills Gates is. The next day, he is the king of tech”.
He continued saying, “I’m buying these girls’ drinks and doing shots and everything. They’re like I gotta go to the bathroom literally, I think for real.” Cuban found out that they didn’t come back and his friend told him that Bill Gates stole his dates.

But he did indeed take revenge later. After selling Broadcast, he was going to speak at a conference. Gates was going to speak before him. Cuban told Gates that after all these years, he was the opening act. Gates did not find those comments pleasing.
Mark Cuban is no pleasant NBA owner
But pleasant is not something that Mark Cuban does. He has been in the eye of controversy many times, especially in the NBA. He has been given several fines throughout the last two decades. Most of them were given as a result of him criticizing the referees and the officials. He has given around $1.66 million for 13 incidents. Cuban has been fined even more since this incident.

Senior player Dirk Nowitzki publicly told him to calm down. He has been noted to also get into shouting matches with opponent players like JR Smith, Bruce Bowen, and Michael Finley. Cuban even started a booing campaign for the latter.
