Today, this line is none other than ‘Air Jordan’. But what does he do with his income, one might ask? Although the specifics are unknown, there is one item of expenditure that Jordan spends a lot of money on. This is his security detail.
Michael Jordan’s Expenditure on Security
Apart from Jordan’s several luxury houses and a massive car collection, the legend spends his money on lavish overseas vacations as well.
On such vacations, Jordan makes use of his private jet or his luxury yacht. However, such overseas vacations entail Jordan’s security detail, being with him for protection. Here’s the interesting bit. Jordan pays his security detail $1,000 – $1,500 per hour. Clearly, the luxurious lifestyle comes with the added benefit of safety and security despite it being expensive.

Speaking of security detail, there was one member of Jordan’s security whom he was especially close to. This is none other than John Michael Wozniak. In fact, in Jordan’s famous ‘Last Dance’, Wozniak was seen hilariously imitating Jordan.

In 1993, after his first retirement, Jordan hired Wozniak to work as a part of his security detail. The latter would also join him during his second stint with the Chicago Bulls. The two were very close with one another and also engaged in games of pool and cards. Moreover, Wozniak got tattoos of the ‘Air Jordan’ logo and the words ’23/Dog’ on his arms. Clearly, the two had a very special bond.
