From putting on several pounds to defeat his opponents to trash-talking opponents to get under their skin, there is nothing that has stopped Jordan from wanting to be the best. The six-time NBA champion bought the house back in 1991 when he was still married to his ex-wife, Juanita Vanoy. The estate is located in Highland Park and had reportedly cost him $2 million. When the couple got divorced in 2006, MJ attained full ownership of the mansion the following year. Five years later in 2012, Jordan listed the property for $29 million.
But little did he know that the price would go on to decrease gradually. Only a year after the property went on the market, the price fell to $21 million and the same year, it dropped to $16 million. In 2015, the price decreased to $14.8 million. Since then, the price has remained the same as MJ did not agree to go lower than that. As of 2022, the property is still in the market with no potential buyers.
Meanwhile, Jordan currently lives with his second wife, Yvette Prieto in Jupiter Island, Florida. The 28,000 sq. ft. home has 11 bedrooms, a workout facility, and a basketball court. Whereas, MJ’s ex-wife Juanita reportedly bought a mansion in Kingsbury Estate in Chicago and still lives there.
Inside Michael Jordan’s Chicago mansion
Michael Jordan’s enormous Chicago estate has roughly 56,000 sq. ft. of space that includes nine bedrooms, and 19 bathrooms. The house was entirely customized in accordance with MJ’s taste and style. The main gate of the property even has Jordan’s jersey no. 23 welded on it. Additionally, the house boasts a basketball court, game room, gym, wine cellar, library, and piano room. The estate also has a golf course, guest house, pool, and tennis court.

One of the reasons that the former Chicago Bulls star is finding it hard to find buyers for the house is because of the location. The mansion is said to be located in an area that is significantly far from the buyers’ place of interest. For now, MJ can only hope that by some miracle, a buyer would agree to buy the mansion. Because as of now, the billionaire NBA legend is paying over $100,000 in property taxes a year.
