To most people, Michael Jordan is one of the greatest basketball players of all time. However, there are so many facets behind the ruthless personality of the Chicago Bulls legend that people have no idea about. Did you know that the 58-year-old was protective about his food? A near-perfect player in his day, Michael Jordan inspired millions of young players in the sport. With six NBA titles to his name, he is a certified veteran of the league. The 14-time All-star had his way around the court, and is arguably one of the most physically destructive players till date. The perfect rags to riches story, MJ took the league by storm during his younger days. In no time, he became a global celebrity, earning the big bucks and big endorsements.

Michael Jordan spat in his food on multiple occasions

As revealed in The Last Dance documentary, Jordan’s absence in 97 NBA Finals game proved costly for the squad. Having initially been reported as a flu, ‘His Airness’ in fact suffered from food poisoning. On the previous night, Michael ate a pizza that left him unhealthy. The question that arises, however, is why was he the only one who fell ill? After all, there was an entire box of pizza. The answer is quite a peculiar one.

On the ‘Jalen and Jacoby Aftershow’, Jason Hehir, director of The Last Dance, made a startling revelation. “When the pizza shows up, Michael says ‘everybody do not touch this pizza, this is mine. You didn’t wait for me, don’t touch this’. So he spits on the pizza.”

Back in 2013, ESPN reported another such case. “A woman named Linda cooked Michael’s meals, and he loved cinnamon rolls. She’d bake a tray and bring it to him… He’d see the guards eyeing the cinnamon rolls and he’d walk over and spit on each one,” claimed the report.
