The Kyrie Irving saga came to a shocking conclusion on February 6. The 2016 NBA champion was linked with several teams like the Los Angeles Lakers, the Phoenix Suns, the Los Angeles Clippers, and the Dallas Mavericks, after he requested a trade out of the Brooklyn Nets. However, the Ankletaker and Markieff Morris ended up joining the Mavericks in exchange for Dorian Finney-Smith, Spencer Dinwiddie, and several future draft picks. In light of this, Lakers centerpiece LeBron James gave his unfiltered take on the whole fiasco which prompted NBA fans to troll the four-time NBA champion on social media.

There was a high chance of Kyrie Irving joining the Lakers to play beside King James, according to trade rumors. However, the dream didn’t realize as the Mavs shifted the entire scenario.

LeBron James expressed his disappointment on the Lakers not acquiring Kyrie

In a recent interview with Michael Wilbon of ESPN, James expressed his disappointment as the Lakers were unable to land Kyrie Irving in LA. During the interview, the 19x All-Star said, “Well, definitely disappointed. I can’t sit here and say I’m not disappointed at not being able to land such a talent. But someone I had and I know I got great chemistry with on the floor that can help you win championships in my eyes.”

The four-time champion continued, “But my focus has shifted now, my focus has shifted to what he have now in the club, in this locker room.”

In other words, King James’ were construed by many fans as a diss to Russell Westbrook and his other Lakers teammates. Therefore, fans made sure to call out James on social media on the same.
