Not only in basketball, Dame has also left his mark in the world of hip-hop. He is widely considered to be the best rapper in the NBA currently and is also compared to NBA’s greatest rapper Shaquille O’Neal at times. Recently, Lillard posted an exciting new song on his Instagram which has fans buzzing.

The Trail Blazers star posted his new song ‘Meditation’ along with a highlight reel of his 71-point game, which has fans talking about a potential career switch in the near future.

Dame Dolla, as he is known in rap circles, is a well-established name in the world of American pop culture. The world of the NBA and Hip-Hop are closely connected and it comes off as no surprise that one of the best players in the league is a hip-hop star. Not only Lillard, but Javale McGee and four-time NBA champion Shaquille O’Neal are also known for their work in the music industry.

Lillard showed off his impressive lyricism recently. Taking to his Instagram, the 2012-13 Rookie of the Year posted his latest song, Meditation. While the official video is yet to drop, the seven-time NBA All-Star added his 71-point performance against the Houston Rockets in the background.

As the above reactions suggest, fans were in awe of Dame’s rapping and basketball skills. Interestingly, an NBA star took shots at Lillard’s rapping skills a few years ago. Anthony Edwards, during his rookie season, talked about his aspirations of being a rapper. “I don’t know what he’s talking about”, added Edwards, while talking about Lillard who already has 5 albums to his name.

The former Rookie of the Year was injured in the 2020 All-Star game. However, that didn’t stop him from rapping for the audience. Along with legendary Hip-Hop artist Lil Wayne, Dame Dolla lit up the weekend.

Although many fans found some flaws in his performance, it was still very good for someone who doesn’t rap professionally. Dame Dolla certainly found some new fans that night after his stellar outing.
