It was a night to remember for Lakers fan as they have finally secured their first win as a new team. After going through a complete rebuild in the off season, the purple and gold couldn’t get a win. However, with a match full of lead switches, they held their own against Memphis to get their first win of the season. A big night for Carmelo Anthony and some important buckets helped them get the taste of victory.
The Lakers did not start off in the greatest way, going down by 10 points in the initial phase of the game. But they came back and went to attack. Despite being at a disadvantage in the fourth quarter, big buckets from Melo put them in front.
Memphis did not give up the fight right until the end, especially Ja Morant, who continues to improve his season. However, with their first win, fans were all ecstatic.

Lakers pull out first win
With the Lakers winning, fans are all joyful tonight. While some fans feel the Lakers will be the best team when chemistry develops fully, some feel it was a lucky escape for the Lakers with Melo stepping up. But for the franchise, a win is a win, and that is all that matters in the league.
Good win Lakers 💜💛 https://t.co/Cq0IupCFU2

The Lakers lucked up. All Ja had to do was hit that last free throw and it's probably overtime.

Lakers got a much needed win but I don't know how sustainable it is for the team to rely on 27 points from Melo and shooting 50% from 3 just to eek out a one possession game.

The Lakers / Grizzlies game left me wishing it was a playoff series between the two. @JaMorant is an absolute animal.

Lakers got the win but the Bazemore foul was unnecessary….why reach on a jump shot knowing they need a 3 to tie. Plus Ja was just in his bag 2nte. Melo saved us but they still got a lot to improve on

Ja Morant was a true warrior for the Grizzles in this game. Putting up 40 points and 10 assists, he was on point all game long. The only downside came at the end as Morant missed the game tying free throw. Steven Adams also had a big double double with 14 points and 16 rebounds. However, the rest of the team couldn’t get it going tonight.
For the Lakers, it was a classic Melo show; he racked up 28 points while shooting 75% from downtown. Anthony Davis came up big on both ends of the floor with 20 points and 4 blocks to his name. While LeBron had a quite night for the most part, he hit some big buckets when needed. He ended the game with 19 points, 6 assists and 2 blocks.
