It has now been a month since the Ben Simmons-Philadelphia 76ers saga. And yet, things are at a standstill. With neither of the parties willing to budge, a trade remains the only viable option at the moment. Things went haywire after the end of last season, when the 25-year-old decided that he no longer desires to play for the same franchise. As per a new report, his stance remains the same, and he is still requesting the Sixers for a way out.

In the 2020-21 campaign, Simmons was a shadow of himself. He was putting in unusually poor performances, and his confidence was at an all-time low. In addition, there were reported misunderstandings with some of his teammates as well as the coach. After the series of complications, the former All-defensive Team member made his announcement public. Since then, many teams such as the Warriors had shown minor interest, but nothing concrete. The situation stands at a grim point at the moment.

Ben Simmons still has no intention of playing for 76ers
Before the new NBA season commenced, Ben Simmons was forced to return to training, with no other option. However, the guard had more arguments with his team, leading to fines as well. In the aftermath of the incidents, Simmons revealed that he has been battling issues mentally, and needs some time off. As Embiid and co. remained focused on the task in hand, there was a small chance that perhaps the break would influence the youngster. In stark contrast, he is still adamant to get out.

A month into him and Doc Rivers’ side not seeing eye-to-eye, Simmons is still nowhere close to playing a game for the Sixers. The #25 is still not content with the franchise, and has opted out. According to Sam Amick of The Athletic, Ben Simmons is not willing to give in. He has apparently reinforced his desire to find the exit doors during the current season. This piece of news will leave Embiid and the rest of the roster in a state of confusion and frustration.
