The Philadelphia 76ers and Ben Simmons saga continues. After the Philadelphia 76ers could not survive in the playoffs this season, Ben Simmons had to stand on the frontline and face all the criticism. Rightly so, he had one of the worst seasons of his career and there is a possibility that Philly would have been a title contender if it weren’t for Simmons’ mishaps. While it was clear that Ben was looking to play elsewhere, reports have come up that his relationship with the Sixers is deteriorating day by day.

Does Ben Simmons resent the 76ers?

Trade talks around Simmons have been headlines since the offseason started. And the franchise that has popped up the most is the Golden State Warriors. Although the Warriors, rejected the first deal made to them by the Philadelphia 76ers, they are still trying to come to a consensus. While Ben doesn’t mind joining the Dubs, it seems like his hatred towards Philly is at its peak.

As per Jason Dumas, “Ben Simmons has cut off communication with basically everyone in the Sixers organization. Everything is going thru his agent, Rich Paul. Ben is open to going to the GSWs though he doesn’t have much leverage in the situation.”

In fact, this wasn’t the only thing. Dumas also went on the 95.7 The Game and further explained, “The situation is getting worse by the day with Ben in Philly. It’s a marriage that’s beyond repair at this point. He doesn’t want to go into a bad situation. He’s reading the tea leaves like everyone else. He sees [the] Toronto [Raptors], he sees [the] Portland [Trail Blazers].”

“And Ben — just to be frank, the young socialite that he is — he’s not really trying to go to any of those situations. He’s open to the California teams is what I’ve been told.”

Is Joel Embiid also in his bad books?

The player that he has played alongside for so many seasons also seems to have landed in Simmons’ bad books. Embiid and Simmons’ partnership on the court may not have flourished as expected, but spending so much time means developing some bond. At least, that’s what Joel Embiid thought.

Dumas also revealed, “Joel Embiid has reached out to him several times since the end of the season. He hasn’t returned Joel Embiid’s calls … he doesn’t want to return to the 76ers. Damage has been done.”

It is clear that there is no way Ben is returning to Philly now. But will he be able to avoid another fiasco like this one wherever he goes? Only time will tell.
