The amount of noise Ben Simmons has made this season and offseason is probably the most since his career in the NBA began. Unfortunately, it has been for all the wrong reasons. Not only have fans bashed him for his disappointing run in the playoffs last season, which led to the Philadelphia 76ers’ second round exit from the playoffs, but former NBA players and analysts have also expressed their concerns. However, this is unacceptable to Kevin Hart, who believes that Simmons’ mistakes are unnecessarily overshadowing his greatness.

Kevin Hart has been linked to the league for a long time now. He is often seen supporting the Philadelphia 76ers from the sidelines. Even his All-Star appearances are very entertaining. Being one of the biggest fans of Philly, he was asked the inevitable question about what he thinks about Simmons. Surprisingly, his response was like none other.
He said, “Ben Simmons is a f****** star… You got to let players play like they play. He got there by playing how he plays. Granted, this is a 3’s shooting time in the NBA, but that ain’t Ben! He is not that guy.” Kevin did not stop there but partially blamed the media for aggravating the situation.
“The media and how they, you know, position things, well…. somehow we forgot about all the good that he did. Wasn’t he an All-Star? Wasn’t he an All-Defensive Team? What are we talking about here?”, he stated. He agrees that during the playoffs, people want nothing but results, but Kevin actually believes that Ben has a bright future. All he has to do is show progress in each passing season.

On one hand, there is Shaquille O’Neal questioning who would take someone like Ben. On the other, Hart said, “Whoever gets that goddamn f****** potential and that beast of a man, you’re going to see the bang for your buck… I am a Ben Simmons fan, regardless.”
Where Simmons lands up is yet to be seen, but Kevin wants nothing but the best for him from here on. Well, at least someone is on his side. The situation right now is that the 76ers have played their first preseason game and lost, and Simmons is yet to join the team. And the way their relationship is, it’s highly unlikely he will. Until then, this saga will have the attention of the entire league.
