The long-standing hold-out between Ben Simmons and the Philadelphia 76ers ended at the trade deadline. Simmons wanted a move away from the Sixers and he refused to play, citing mental health concerns. And he got his wish as he was traded to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for James Harden.
Simmons was also criticized for not reporting to play for the Sixers. Fans called him out and also accused him of faking his mental illness. He was also criticized for not giving Seth Curry and Andre Drummond an explanation, as they were also part of the trade. But Seth Curry says that Ben shouldn’t apologize to him or the 76ers. He says that it is a business and he shouldn’t apologize to anyone.

Curry was asked what he thought about the Ben Simmons situation. He said, “Business is business, I said from day [one], even when he was out early in the season, people were asking me if I feel like, if Ben comes back, should he apologize to us or whatever? I understand the business; he doesn?t need to apologize to anybody. When he?s on the court, I know he?s going to do his job and he?s going to do what he does. So I understand the business.”

Stephen A. Smith was asked what he thought about Seth Curry’s comments. He says he didn’t have any issues with Curry but he gave a warning to Simmons. He says ” Are you going to come and fight alongside us to try to win a championship while you are still here.. There are some members of Sixers who judge him that way… There are a lot of people who didn’t believe Ben Simmons.”

Curry stood in support of his teammate and backed him to come back and perform. The Nets will need Simmons at his best as they look to dethrone the Milwaukee Bucks as the kings of the east. He will also want to prove his haters wrong and show that he is one of the best in the league.
