Last season the Brooklyn Nets traded for superstar Ben Simmons from the Philadelphia 76ers. It was considered a blockbuster move even though things went sour between Simmons and the 76ers. Adding Simmons to the superstar duo of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving looked great on paper. Fans and experts expected Ben Simmons to hit the ground running. They expected the Australian to bring in the much-required defensive and physical ability to the team. However, things didn’t go as planned as he missed the whole season through injury.
The trade deadline week is here and teams are on high alert to add valuable pieces to their roster. As per recent reports, the Nets are in the market for Bam Adebayo. This trade seems to make sense for the Nets as Adebayo brings physicality and defense to the table which the Nets have arguably lacked. But the Miami Heat will not likely let him go easily as he is one of the most important players for them.
Fans took to Twitter to share their opinion about the prospect of the Nets obtaining Adebayo.

Yeah then we’re not getting KD. And I’m okay with that cause we’re not interested in giving up Bam, as we should be

And we’re not going to trade Ben at the bottom of his value. Beat it with these garbage trades that aren’t happening

Much like the Nets, the Miami Heat were also beaten by the?Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals. Jimmy Butler and the Heat struggled against the Celtics and lost the series 4-3. In this series, Adebayo averaged 15 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game.
The future of once-promising Ben Simmons
The Brooklyn Nets made the playoffs and faced a strong Boston Celtics team in the first round. The arguably much physical and defensively sound Celtics made life hard for Irving and Durant. And the duo struggled throughout the series. The Celtics?comfortably won the first three games of the series. For the elimination game, it was rumored that Simmons might suit up to help his team.

Unfortunately for the Nets, the young guard decided to sit out, and the Celtics swept them. However, Simmons has had back surgery and is now in rehab. Furthermore, he is expected to return when the season starts on October 15. And it looks like trading away Ben Simmons is not the Nets’ top priority at the moment. The future of superstars Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant is still hanging in the balance. And the Nets are focussed on the duo.

Also, since the value of Ben Simmons is at an all-time low, the Nets might not get a good return from him. So they could opt to play him this season which could help raise his value.
