Last month, news broke that a former Chicago Bulls star was in trouble with the law. Ben Gordon was reportedly engaged in a brawl with two security guards at a McDonald’s joint. As per reports, the employees at the McDonald’s outlet requested Gordon to leave the premises without any results. Soon the guards made their way to the scene. Two security guards tried to ensure he left the eatery, but Gordon reportedly got entangled in a physical altercation with them. Following this, the former NBA Sixth Man of the Year was taken into custody and “charged with two misdemeanor counts of battery”. Now, Gordon finds himself himself in deeper trouble, recent reports suggest.

Drafted in 2004, Ben Gordon won the sixth man of the year award in 2005. Throughout his career, he has donned the jerseys of the Chicago Bulls, the Detroit Pistons, the Charlotte Bobcats and the Orlando Magic. He retired from the NBA in 2015 and ended his playing career in 2017 after a stint with the Texas Legends. Since his retirement, Gordon has been candid about his mental health struggles and bipolar disorder. However, he has been in constant trouble with the law.

An arrest warrant has been issued against former NBA star Ben Gordon

Following his arrest, a date was set in court leading up to his release. However, Gordon failed to appear in court on 21st December. As noted before, the 2005 sixth man of the year was charged with causing ‘bodily harm’ to the security guards who were escorting him. The security guards were 29 and 21 years old individuals. Gordon’s failure to show up in court forced the judge to issue an arrest warrant against him.

Cook County, Illinois issued his warrant and the bail was set at $10,000. Along with these details, a mug shot of the ex-NBA star appeared online. However, this isn’t the first time that Gordon has seen the walls of a police precinct. In 2017, as reported by CBS news, Gordon was arrested for separate instances.

One was for forging a driving license while the other was under suspicion of robbery. Apart from these instances, Gordon was once again in trouble with the law in October of 2022. This incident involved members of his family.

The incident at LaGuardia Airport

In October 2022, reports emerged claiming that Gordon punched his son, Elijah, repeatedly at LaGuardia Airport in New York City. Supposedly, Gordon hit his son for having dropped a book. Authorities rushed to the scene. While the former NBA star resisted arrest, his son received medical attention for his injuries. The former NBA player spent time in jail and was released on bail.

Gordon’s ex, Elijah’s step-mom, spoke to the Daily Mail and dismissed the incident. She said, “His son was not hurt, he wasn’t bruised and is with his aunt. The lady was starting with them and called security and he was getting upset. The child is fine.” The NBA Star is yet to comment publicly about these incidents.
