Aaliyah Gayles, a rising superstar of college basketball was shot 10 times in both legs and arms in Las Vegas. She attended a house party for just 30 minutes when the open firing happened and unfortunately 4 people including her were severely injured. The good news is that she seems like she will make her miraculous return to the court very soon.
Gayles is 18 years old, and she is a player who has grabbed a lot of attention with her skills and game. She plays for the University of South Carolina. She also participated in the Jordan Brand Classic and McDonald’s All-American game.

Gayles is a 5-star recruit and the #8 overall ranked player in ESPN’s 2022 class. At Spring Valley High School last season, she averaged 13.8 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.5 steals, and 3.3 assists per game.

Aaliyah Gayles expected to make a miraculous recovery
Amazing news from Aaliyah Gayles’ father regarding the progress of Aaliyah’s recovery. The USC hoops recruit’s dad told TMZ Sports she will return to the basketball court and play for the Trojans, despite being shot multiple times last weekend.

Dwight said his daughter, the 5-foot-9 guard, was hit a total of 10 times in “both arms and both legs” and had her third surgery this week. “She will be able to play ball again,” Dwight said as reported by TMZ. “It’s God’s plan. She is still a USC Trojan.”
Her coach at the University of South Carolina, Lindsay Gottlieb said in praise of the young superstar, “Aaliyah is one of the strongest, most resilient young people I have ever known.” Lindsay said that she will continue to support her student and her family in these tough testing times.

Aaliyah is expected to make a full recovery. She is still planning to play for the USC women’s basketball team as soon as she gets fit. There may be time for that to happen but all the surgeries have been successful. She will soon continue her recovery after 3 surgeries.
