However, in a thrilling matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies, their young core really showed out. The trio of Jalen Green, Kevin Porter Jr., and Christian Wood took over. They defeated Ja Morant and the Grizzlies in a close game. Moreover, fans were left with their jaws on the floor as Green took over in the clutch for the Rockets. His moves saw fans comparing him to LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Coming as one of the top picks in the draft, the pressure was well on Jalen Green. As he dealt with an injury in the season, the Rockets guard is not one of the top rookies. However, he has shown flashes of the serious potential that he comes along with. In addition, the rookie has never disappointed when he was needed the most.
During the matchup against Memphis, Green outdid his defender on a dance floor and knocked down a cold-blooded shot.
LeBron James would be impressed too
With the game entering the dying seconds, the Rockets were up by 7 points. With the ball in their hands, Jalen Green rose to the occasion. He took the isolation play and had Brandon Clarke on him. While most youngsters would crumble, Green went deep into his bag and had Clarke lost. He proceeded to knock down the shot and sealed the game for Houston.

Green has come up big in clutch numerous times this season. He even did so against LeBron James and the Lakers, knocking down clutch threes when the Rockets needed them. But tonight, Houston’s young trip really showed out.

On their way to the win, Jalen Green finished with 24 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists. Upcoming big man, Christian Wood added 28 points, 13 rebounds, 1 steal and 2 blocks to the mix. In addition, Kevin Porter Jr. scored a game-high 29 points to go with 5 assists. After a bad overall season, the Rockets will be happy to see their young core really shine through against tough opposition.

For Memphis, MVP candidate Ja Morant had a rare off night. He contributed with 22 points, 4 rebounds, and 6 assists shooting just 7/20 from the field. Desmond Bane led the Grizzlies with 28 points, hitting 4 threes. Center Steven Adams also had a big night with 23 points and 12 rebounds. The Grizzlies shot poor from downtown, making just 19% of their shots from range. They will go back to the drawing board as the loss comes with the season heading to the playoffs.
