An addition of Simmons in the finals could have helped slow down Boston. He could take on Jayson Tatum who averaged 29.5 points. Moreover, his playmaking could also be a critical addition. Durant was smothered by the Celtics’ forces as he turned the ball over 5 times every game. With Simmons, Brooklyn could be in control. His buckets would just be a bonus for the Nets.
