The relationship between Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert has always been rocky since last year. According to reports, it is now getting worse. Reports have described their relationship as “passively aggressively awkward“.
ESPN’s Brian Windhorst hosts a regular podcast. On the podcast, along with Tim MacMahon, he revealed that there is a lot of tension in the Jazz franchise.
There were a lot of expectations from the Jazz franchise as they finished last season on top. However, they have not been consistent in their performances this year. Mitchell and Gobert are both out due to injuries and the team is suffering. Their current record seems to be fine and are 31-21 and sitting at the number 4 seed in the western conference. However, they have lost the last 7 of their 10 games.

A lot of fans have backed Rudy Gobert in this passive-aggressive fight. Gobert is the main defensive anchor of the team and has stepped up offensively this season. He takes his role seriously and has been consistently grabbing rebounds and scoring baskets.
Ah yes, some great reporting here. Shows Gobert saying the Jazz need to step it up defensively as a subtweet to Donovan but can’t come up with anything else and says “oh ya know, also just some passive aggressive stuff”. I’d love to know those passive aggressive stuff, Brian https://t.co/tkoQH3kpTo pic.twitter.com/XKbnW283V5

Moreover, fans are speculating that the relationship between both the superstars is tense because of comments made by Gobert earlier. Gobert had claimed that the Utah guards are not good at defense and need to step it up.
Probably cause he said his guards are ass on defense which was correct https://t.co/PdC6dbgPDz

Fans fueling the fire
Fans have also asked Gobert to pull off a ‘Ben Simmons’ and stop playing for the franchise. These comments are coming up because Gobert has been playing really well this season. Fans believe that Gobert does not deserve this hate from Mitchell. Gobert is leading the league in rebounds per game and is scoring the most points per game of his career.
Everyone likes to see pro-athletes engaging in drama. However, a ton of fans are now fed up with this tussle between Mitchell and Gobert. They feel it has been going on for too long and needs to end for the future of the franchise.
