Lately, a 27-year-old Memphis Grizzlies star has been making waves in the NBA world for all the wrong reasons. The 2nd seeded Grizzlies faced a crushing defeat in round 1 against the Los Angeles Lakers. Following the loss, fans rubbished Ja Morant and the Grizzlies, especially Dillon Brooks, owing to his ugly trash talk and antics against LeBron James. Amid all the chaos, a ground-breaking update recently emerged from the Grizzlies’ camp. However, a former NBA Champion stood by the Grizzlies star and took a dig at the franchise instead.

The 1st round matchup between the Lakers and Grizzlies was not as close as people might have expected it to be. However, it was very entertaining. Especially when Dillon Brooks trash-talked James, calling him “Old,” after the Game 2 victory. However, things didn’t go in his favor after that, as the LA team silenced the Grizzlies with a 4-2 series win. Eventually, Brooks took all the heat after the loss.

Days after the crushing defeat, a shocking update surfaced in the NBA world regarding Brooks’ future in Memphis. Shams Charania, The Athletic reporter tweeted, “The Memphis Grizzlies have informed pending free agent Dillon Brooks that he will not be brought back under any circumstances, league sources say.” While the fans found the update hilarious, former NBA champion, Kendrick Perkins lashed out at the management for its decision.

Perkins took to his Twitter and shared a couple of tweets, taking a sly dig at the Grizzlies‘ management. The tweet read, “Oh I see what’s going on in Memphis. They’re making Dillon Brooks the fall guy. BS! Leadership need some of that smoke too! Carry on..”

While others refrained from highlighting the uncalled decision from the Grizzlies’ side, Perkins stood alone and raised his concerns for the 27-year-old star.

Moreover, Perkins further banished the side on Live TV during his show with ESPN. He said, “This guy spends 6 years in your organization…  when it comes to down to affecting a livelihood and is also a reflection of your organization.”

Where will Dillon Brooks end up?

The Grizzlies star is currently ending a $35 Million 3-year contract with the team. The star rejected various offers directed at him during the season. However, the team decided to not re-sign the unrestricted free agent back in the team under any circumstances, reported Charania. Despite his poor performance in the latest playoffs series, he maintained a steady average of 14.5 points in his 6-season-long career with the Grizzlies. Fans have to wait to witness the star’s new home in the coming months.
