Charles Barkley had his fair share of altercations with fans and players during his NBA career. He has been arrested many times and now he seems to have learnt his lesson. And now Chuck gave his thoughts on the slap gate incident and shared advice to Will Smith.

Barkley was on the Dan Patrick Show, and he shared his thoughts on the incident. Dan asked if he wants to host the Oscars next year and Chuck said that there will be a lot of pressure. He said that he loves both Will Smith and Chris Rock but he iterates that Smith was 100% wrong.

It’s not just Chuck who thinks that. Many celebrities and icons have criticized Smith and said he should have shown more restraint. And Chuck gave Smith some advice on how to deal with such situations.

Dan asked Chuck about his past and how he had moments where he retaliated against fans. He said, “Yeah, and I was wrong. I think I’ve been arrested four or five times for punching people and I was wrong. It’s alright to admit you’re wrong… I was wrong when I did it. It was an overreaction.”

“Part of our job is to get heckled. People say stupid stuff to you… Unless someone physically comes at you, Grow up… Unless they get personal, turn the other cheek. I mean, you got to.”

Chuck wasn’t always this way. He was short-tempered and would throw punches at the first opportunity. But as he got older and more mature, he realized what he was doing was wrong. And he changed accordingly. Now he wants to handle situations in a more calm manner, instead of being heated.
