Lillard has been with the Blazers since 2012. At the 2012 draft, he was the 6th overall pick and has only represented the Portland franchise his entire career. Although the 32-year-old hasn’t won an NBA trophy yet, he has had a very successful career. Lillard was awarded Rookie of the Year in 2013. He has also made seven NBA All-Star appearances in his career.

In 2021, he was also chosen as a part of the NBA 75th anniversary team. It seems like now Lillard wants to add an NBA title to his trophy cabinet and feels that changing his team might do the trick for him.
