James Harden now looks in the most comfortable position to win the first championship in his career. The path ahead of him has never looked this straightforward before, but there are guys who are critical of him for jumping to a team that is bulked up with superstars.

Furthermore, former NBA player Antoine Walker struck a wrong chord with Harden when he criticized him for his style of play recently. Walker expressed his displeasure against Harden’s dribbling technique to get a bucket, and the latter then responded.

“Stuff like that I don’t pay attention to, especially somebody that has no credibility,” Harden replied to Walker’s comments.

Everything was good until James Harden said that he doesn’t pay attention to criticism. However, many felt that he crossed a line by saying that Walker has no ‘credibility’ to pass comments about others.

Antoine Walker called out James Harden over his comments

James Harden has got on Walker’s nerves by saying that the latter is not ‘credible’ enough to be entitled to an opinion. Of course, it would not sit with anyone who excelled in the league and earned his respect.

So when Walker appeared on a recent episode of ‘First Things First,’ the primary thing he did was respond to James Harden. Walker began by listing all of his achievements as a player and then said:

“I understand James Harden came in the league in my last year, in 2009. So maybe he forgot. But I’m overqualified to give an opinion about James Harden.”

Antoine Walker then lauded Harden for evolving as an excellent two-guard, one of the best the league has ever seen. But the former Celtics forward still isn’t convinced about Harden’s leadership.

“If you’re telling me and the question was ‘if I want to leverage my future for James Harden,’ I’m not gonna do that, I’m not leveraging my future for him,” Walker mentioned.

Walker does not want Harden to repeat his comments ever again

The fact that James Harden made such a statement about Walker has the latter agitated. The 2006 NBA champion did not hold back from making himself heard, and was not in a mood to spare James Harden!

“He hasn’t shown me that he can get it done in big-time moments, and I believe it’s because of his style of play,” Walker said of Harden.

“He’s playing great basketball, but it’s nothing personal. I just want him to know don’t ever say that I’m not credible enough to talk about the game of basketball. But to give my opinion, I think he’s a great player and it’s never personal I don’t know James Harden personally, but never say that. I’m overqualified,” Walker added.

These words will certainly resonate in Harden’s mind for quite some time. The Brooklyn Nets guard will be wary of his comments about ex-players from now on since Walker’s treatment is more than enough to make Harden watch out for his tongue.
