Los Angeles Lakers superstar Anthony Davis has been at his absolute best this season. However, his recent injury poses a huge problem for the team. He will potentially miss at least a month due to a foot injury and while the duration is still unknown, the LeBron James-led Lakers may halt all major trade negotiations. With the trade deadline roughly two months away, the team would be forced to make some changes in the team depending on how Davis returns.
According to reliable sources, the Lakers might go for a cheaper and more sensible option instead of going ahead with a superstar trade signing. Moreover, they would think twice before trading away their two first-round picks in case the need arises.

Anthony Davis’ injury cuts down the Lakers’ options
The Los Angeles Lakers have not had the best of seasons the past two years. Russell Westbrook still remains a huge problem for the team although his performances have certainly improved. The former MVP was speculated to leave the Lakers a few months ago but a deal never came to fruition.
However, his future still remains in the air. The Lakers might opt for a trade involving Patrick Beverly, Kendrick Nunn, and other players without sacrificing much of their future in order to land a cheaper center like DeMarcus Cousins or other players.
The Lakers have been hurt by inflated trade prices. Earlier this season, they tried to acquire Bojan Bogdanović from the Utah Jazz and the asking price was a first-round draft. Bogdanović joined the Detroit Pistons instead with the deal not involving a first-round pick.
Davis’ injury and the Lakers’ desperation will only aggravate their problems. They might have to wait until February in order to bring a worthy replacement for AD. However, they might fall out of the playoff place in the absence of Davis till February arrives.
How have stars like LeBron James, Davis, and Westbrook performed?
The Los Angeles Lakers’ problems from last season have carried onto the 2022-23 NBA season. They are currently 12th in the Western Conference and are in serious trouble.
