Anthony Davis is one of the best players in the league and arguably one of the greatest power forwards of all time. His unique size and wingspan make him one of the best two-way players in the league. Davis has the body of a big man and the skill set of a guard. He is a unique three-level scorer whose defensive prowess is off the charts.

Anthony Davis is also nicknamed the Unibrow. A unibrow is a single eyebrow that is created because of the two eyebrows touching in the middle. It’s a pretty rare phenomenon, and it’s even rare to see that on an NBA superstar. Davis has trademarked several catchphrases regarding the Unibrow.

However, he did try to shave it off in the past. AD made an appearance once on The Late Late Show with James Corden. He was asked if he ever tried to groom it. AD replied, ” Nothing. Nothing. Actually, in high school one time, um, like sophomore year. When it first start filling in, you know, everybody like, oh Unibrow, one eyebrow, you know, the whole Bernie, Ernie, everything. I heard everything. Right.”

“So I kind of felt some type of way, you know? And so I told my sister, you know, we did the bathroom, close the door. I’m like, yeah, right? Yeah. One time she did it, went back to school everybody, like, oh my God, Anthony, you know, but then it grew back thick and I’m like, all right, we can’t keep this, you know?”

The Unibrow – The Rise of Anthony Davis

Davis was selected number one overall by the New Orleans Pelicans in the 2012 NBA draft. It became quickly apparent that he has an elite defensive game. AD then developed his skill set at both sides of the floor and he quickly became an All-Star. By 2017, It became clear that AD was a top 5 player in the league. But being in the Pelicans and the West is so stacked every time out, he didn’t have much success in the playoffs.

In 2019, AD got traded to the Los Angeles Lakers, who gave up a considerable amount of talent and picks to acquire him. But AD showed that he was worth it in his first year. The Lakers won the championship in 2020, with AD being a critical part of the team. In the following year, the Lakers looked favorites to repeat but an injury to AD and LeBron derailed them, which lead to them being knocked out in the first round.

AD and Lakers will look to get back to the top again. But they have not had a smooth ride so far. AD has missed a chunk of games and only recently returned on Tuesday. He will look to get back to his best as the Lakers chase their 18th championship.
