However, a recent report suggests the Nets are attempting to make an addition to their roster.

According to a reliable insider report, The Brooklyn Nets have had talks with 10x All-star and veteran forward Carmelo Anthony. Anthony played for the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2021-22 season. Now a free agent, Anthony looks to sign with an NBA squad and contribute with whatever he has left.

Following the report, the Nets fans vehemently expressed their disapproval on Social Media. Many fans believe signing an aging player will not solve the Nets’ problems. Carmelo Anthony, now 38 years old, did not make any notable contributions to the Lakers last season coming off the bench.

According to fans, Anthony is an aging veteran well past his prime and relies heavily on the ball to make buckets. Moreover, signing another ISO-heavy player with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving on the same roster makes the move redundant. One of the other major reasons why fans disapprove of the move is that Anthony lacks on the defensive end and can be a liability for the already weak defense of the Nets.
