The Cleveland Cavaliers are doing fairly well as one of the top five contenders in the Eastern Conference. Cavs star Donovan Mitchell has been averaging 29.3 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 4.8 assists following an off-season trade from the Utah Jazz in 2022. With 26-16, the Cavs are currently positioned fifth trailing behind the Philadelphia 76ers. Evidently, new reports suggest that the Cavs are looking to further strengthen their roster with the return of their star much to the fans’ joy.
Cavaliers star Ricky Rubio will soon be making a comeback after taking a year-long break from the court. Rubio had gone into rehabilitation after the 32-year-old sustained a torn ACL in his left knee while playing against the New Orleans Pelicans on December 28, 2021.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski from ESPN, the 2010 EuroLeague champion is aiming to rejoin his teammates on January 12 for the Cavs’ game against the Portland Trail Blazers. The Cavs have currently listed him as questionable for the upcoming game. However, after his practice on Wednesday, if everything went well then Rubio will play on Thursday night.
Rubio played a major part in the Cavs’ progress helping the team make it to the postseason in 2022 in contrast to their 22-50 record the season before his arrival. Evidently, fans are overjoyed with the new reports on the Spaniard’s return from a lengthy break. Below are a few of the tweets.

The Cleveland Cavaliers previously won three consecutive games before Nikola Jokic’s Denver Nuggets put an end to their winning streak on January 6. Following that, the Cavs defeated Devin Booker’s Phoenix Suns before falling short during the game against Donovan Mitchell’s former team, the Utah Jazz, by 116-114. However, the impending return of Ricky Rubio, after a one-year hiatus, has given fans higher hopes.

Rubio was traded to the Cavaliers in August 2021 where he averaged 13.1 points, 6.6 assists, and 4.1 rebounds before sustaining the knee injury. The Cavs then traded him to the Indiana Pacers in February 2022. However, five months later the Cavs acquired him again under a three-year contract worth $18.4 million.
