Now, a broken marriage has reportedly forced a former NBA champion to gear up for a legal battle with his ex-wife.
Years after ending her marriage with former NBA forward Matt Barnes, TV fame Gloria Govan had recently obtained a child support judgment in her favor. As per the court judgment, the ex-NBA champion is required to pay $133k for child support. However, as it turns out, Barnes won’t comply with Gloria’s demand.

After ending his marriage with Gloria Govan, Matt Barnes was ordered to pay $20k per month in child support. After the former Warriors star retired from the league, the amount was cut down to $7500 per month. However, the Basketball Wives?fame claimed that Barnes failed to pay the amount at times. Apparently, the court judged in Gloria’s favor and ordered Barnes to pay $133k for alleged past-due support and another $25k in fees and sanctions. Anyhow, the former NBA veteran has now reportedly decided to contest the judgment and the six-digit sum demanded of him.

According to a report on RadarOnline.com, Matt Barnes has hired a lawyer to challenge the judgment that Gloria won. Earlier, Gloria won the said judgment because her ex-husband did not show up for the hearing. However, the former NBA champion has now stated that he was not aware of the hearing. He added that his ex-wife served him with the legal papers at an inactive email address. Barnes accused Gloria Govan of not properly notifying him about the hearing.

To add more points to his accusation, the 2017 NBA champion said that Gloria Govan did not inform him about the hearing, in spite of texting him on the same day. As reports suggest, Barnes learned about the judgment against him from news reports. Apparently, he has hired a lawyer to defend his position. Moreover, Matt Barnes wants the judgment vacated and a new hearing set for him to argue his side of things. Besides, the NBA veteran has also made it clear that he will contest the $133k that Gloria claims he owes in child support.
