Since getting drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers as the next ‘Stephen Curry’, Lonzo Ball has not lived up to his sky-high expectations. In his short career, the 6’6” guard has already been traded two times and is on his third NBA team. However, just when things were going somewhat right last season with the Chicago Bulls, Ball suffered a gruesome injury.
The 25-year-old hasn’t played an NBA game since January 14, 2022. He suffered a torn meniscus against the Golden State Warriors and was initially expected to miss only six to eight weeks. However, fast forward to today, and Ball is no better than a year ago.
Moreover, he is expected to suffer a similar fate as last season when he was definitively shut down from regular season action. According to Bulls insider K.C Johnson, Lonzo Ball has not made significant strides in his recovery. Reportedly, he cannot even run or cut effectively on the court. Consequently, Marc Eversley and Co are expected to come out after the All-Star break and shut down Ball for the remainder of the season.

The above development is a major update in light of the heightened Westbrook rumors. According to many sources, the Bulls are among the favorites to land the 9x All-Star due to the influence of head coach Billy Donovan. When he won his MVP, Donovan was Westbrook’s coach at Oklahoma City Thunder. However, the potential of having Westbrook as their point guard has not blindsided the fans from supporting their current guard. Many long-standing fans were in despair following Ball’s career-altering update.
Bulls fans grieve Lonzo Ball’s situation
After Johnson’s season-ending update on Ball, Bulls fans ensued a social media storm. Needless to say, Ball has left a glowingly positive mark in Chicago as many took to Twitter and grieved the disheartening news. Thousands also poured in to extend support for the 25-year-old guard.

Feel bad for him. He was always a great defender and passer, then became a legit 3 pt shooter. Could’ve been a perfect pg on a lot of teams
