The Phoenix Suns sent shockwaves around the league when they traded for 2x Finals MVP, Kevin Durant. Coming off a Finals appearance in 2021 and the league’s best record last season, the arrival of Durant makes the Suns heavy favorites to win it all. While one would assume that the Suns’ roster is now complete with the addition of KD, that doesn’t seem to be the case. After giving up multiple assets in the trade, Phoenix could add some depth to its roster. And that is exactly what they’re hoping to do with the possible addition of a former MVP.

Currently, the Suns occupy the 4th spot in the West with a 33-28 record. With Durant slated to return from his injury sooner rather than later, the Suns will be looking forward to building consistency ahead of the Playoffs. Adding former MVP, Derrick Rose to an already-stacked lineup of KD, Devin Booker, Chris Paul, and Deandre Ayton may look like a daunting prospect, but considering the fact that Rose hasn’t played in a long time could turn off Phoenix’s interest. However, fans were treated to a rare Rose appearance during the New York Knicks‘ latest game.

According to a report from the ?New York Post,? the Phoenix Suns have been eyeing a potential buyout for Derrick Rose from the New York Knicks. Before tonight, Rose hadn?t played a game for the New York Knicks since the win over the Houston Rockets on December 31.

Once atop the league, Derrick Rose?s value in the NBA has surely plummeted to the ground. Rose, who was once seen as the future of the Chicago Bulls ended up getting passed around the league as a role player and a benchwarmer after multiple career-threatening injuries.

The injuries robbed the 2011 MVP of a lot of his athleticism, speed, and agility. Now, Rose relies more on his basketball IQ and getting his teammates involved. However, he has not been getting any playing time in New York anymore.

Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau has opted for more of a young lineup, causing Rose to fall out of the rotation. So, it would be amazing to see Rose play for a team that needs his services. Hopefully, the Suns and the Knicks manage to work something out and fans get to see the veteran showcasing his skills in a new arena.
