Stephen Curry recently talked about the similarities between him and Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo during an interview with SiriusXM NBA Radio. The 2022 Finals MVP reckoned that players deal with a lot of conversations, comparisons, and distractions, acting as a cast on them.
Stephen Curry praises Giannis Antetokounmpo’s leadership
Curry suggested that one needs to acknowledge their greatness as a leader and keep doing their thing. He added that a leader needs to get the team in a good position to win a majority of the games and become a championship contender. Stephen Curry said,?“But that doesn’t happen without a great team behind you and I think he [Giannis] acknowledges that.”
Further, Steph pointed out that every player comes into the league with the desire to win. Hence, being a defending champion becomes a bigger challenge. Curry stated that the last team and the last player holding the trophy always received mutual respect from fellow athletes.
The 34-year-old shared that such players are often the common target when the athletes start a new season with hopes of winning. Curry said,?“So, been in that position before and love it- and the fact that he [Giannis] acknowledges it shows that killer instinct, what’s going to motivate him this year.”

Giannis Antetokounmpo won his first championship with the Milwaukee Bucks during the 2020-21 season. He won the Finals MVP award for his incredible performances in the Finals.
