Graduating High School is a highlight of every student’s career. This was the case for the graduating class of 2023 from Crenshaw High School until a special guest made it a core memory. Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green walked on stage to the surprise of many. The 4x NBA Champion was present to deliver a powerful speech for the students. Born in Michigan, Draymond was never a part of the Crenshaw community. However, this act of kindness hasn’t gone unnoticed, with many praising his efforts.
Green and the Warriors saw their hopes of defending the NBA championship dashed at the hands of the Los Angeles Lakers in the Conference Semifinals. While the postseason is drawing to a close, Draymond decided to spend his time imparting wisdom to the next generation.

Draymond Green’s empowering message to students
Draymond Green went to Saginaw High School in his hometown of Saginaw, Michigan. As a senior, he was averaging 20 points a game as he led his team to the Class A state championship. Now a 4x NBA champion, Green is one of the best Power Forwards in the league today. Being a part of the Golden State team that has dominated in recent years, it was a surprise to most when he was seen in Crenshaw. Many posted about his presence with parents and students alike being noticeably perplexed.
The Dancing Bear of Michigan was there to give a commencement speech for the graduating class of 2023 and did so in an empowering manner. He congratulated the class giving them props on finishing their first hurdle. While optimistic, Draymond did stick to the harsh reality, stating, “Believe me, there are going to be times when life throws you a curve ball, but it is how you respond to those challenges that defines who you really are.” A message that defined the person Draymond really is.

Draymond Green to the Lakers?
With fans always speculating, it’s not a surprise that many see this as a ploy to make a trade. But that is nowhere close to the truth. With a year remaining in his current contract, it doesn’t seem plausible that a trade would take place between the two. However, there is another way.

The 33-year-old has a player option for the final year of his contract. He can just opt out and become an unrestricted free agent. This will allow the 4x NBA All-Star to move to a team of his choosing. However, that option will make it difficult for him to manage favorable terms on any potential deal with the Lakers. It won’t be a surprise to see Green finishing his career in Golden State either.
What are your thoughts about Green’s future? Do you think he will somehow join the Lakers? Let us know in the comments.
