Jerry West is an NBA icon. During his playing career, West dominated the NBA with the Los Angeles Lakers, becoming one of the all-time greats with the franchise. West is a pivotal figure in the NBA, with the silhouette of him dribbling the ball serving as the logo for the NBA to this day. And it appears he has been busy working around in Hollywood.

John Stamos works with Jerry West

Popular actor John Stamos spoke recently to Extra TV to promote his new show ‘Big Shot’, set to air on Disney+. He revealed that he worked with LA Lakers legend, and current LA Clippers executive Jerry West. West was a consultant on the show, and the two shared an interesting interaction. “I said, ‘Mr. West, thank you so much for letting me come to this rehearsal.’ He said ‘first of all son, it’s practice, not rehearsal’.”

It is good to see Jerry West staying involved in Hollywood. However, his primary focus still remains basketball. During his career, Jerry West established himself as one of the greatest players of all time. During his 14 year career with the Lakers, he was an All-Star for each year that he played. Furthermore, he could lead the Los Angeles Lakers to an NBA championship in 1972. He is the only player in NBA history to win Finals MVP, despite losing in the Finals to the Boston Celtics in 1969.

Jerry West – Successful player and executive

In his second career, West has found similar success in the NBA. While his coaching career did not last long, West eventually became a scout for the Lakers, and then the general manager. As an executive, West was far more successful, winning several NBA titles. He was the coach that brought in players like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Magic Johnson, Shaquille O’Neal, and Kobe Bryant to the franchise.

Since then, West has gone on to be an executive for several franchises, such as the Memphis Grizzlies and the Golden State Warriors. Presently, he serves as an executive for the LA Clippers and was instrumental in bringing in superstars Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. Regardless of his work as an executive, Jerry West will always be remembered as a Los Angeles Lakers legend.
