Myles O’Neal became an outlier in the O’Neal household when he decided not to pursue basketball as a career. Given that his father and siblings Shareef and Me’arah are all ball players, it came as a surprise to many when he decided to make his mark in the world of music. He recently explained how his father sowed the seeds of success in his music career many years back.

Shaquille O’Neal is himself an established musician. He has collaborated with various music artists like Michael Jackson and Biggie. His son revealed how Shaq helped him in his music career by influencing his taste in music quite early on.

In an interview given to IEDM, Myles explained the role of his father Shaquille O’Neal in his music career. He said he became fond of the world of music from a very early age.

He said, ?Growing up, there was a lot of different music playing in my house. My dad had a huge impact on my taste in music. I?m a big fan of rap and hip-hop culture, which is solely based on his love for hip-hop and how much he would make us listen to Biggy, 2Pac, Enimen, Scarface, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg and A Tribe Called Quest.??

According to Myles Shaq was one of the reasons music was ingrained inside of him since he was a child. Shaq has released various of his albums in the past. He has collaborated with many big-time artists in the process. Myles’s music career has helped him garner a net worth of over five million dollars. In the interview, Myles claimed that it was not always easy for Shaq to bond earlier in his life as he never took up basketball.

Myles has said it was not easy for him and his dad to bond. Since he was one of the few members in the family that were not related to basketball. Shaq’s career as a Disc Jockey bought the duo closer to each other. Myles owes a lot to music. It has helped him in his relationship with his superstar father and also made him a successful individual. He recently launched his first music album Superficial.
