NBA 2K has a massive fan base, and it’s natural that several players enjoy playing the iconic game as well. Toronto Raptors’ Scottie Barnes is also on board, attempting to be the best GM in the game. However, he is opposed to having Joel Embiid on his squad. At least, that’s what he indicated in a recent NBA 2K stream.
The young gun hopped on MyTeam and performed his best Masai Ujiri impression as he tried to assemble the best squad. Barnes landed a noteworthy pull as he drew a Diamond Joel Embiid card with a 98 rating.
While many would go into a frenzy after adding such a card to their roster, the forward wasn’t thrilled. In fact, he didn’t hold back in letting his true feelings be known. ?Ah, sh*t, we sellin’ his a** immediately,? Barnes said as soon as he drew Embiid’s card.

He made it obvious right away that he doesn’t have room on his team for the star big man. Perhaps he preferred to go a different course, or maybe the center didn’t fit into his game plan. Many would assume Scottie Barnes is still bitter over the Philadelphia 76ers knocking the Toronto Raptors out of the playoffs last season.
Whatever the reason, excluding Joel Embiid from your 2K squad or in reality would be a recipe for disaster.
Joel Embiid was among the frontrunners for the MVP award last season
Joel Embiid has been in the league since 2014. Since then, he has established himself as one of the finest big men in the game. With his fascinating footwork, brilliant post moves, and great shooting for a center, he continues to etch his name in the NBA annals.
Embiid took home the scoring title last season, becoming only the third Sixer to do so. Through trial and tribulations, the big man paved a way for his franchise into the playoffs. However, he fell short of winning the coveted MVP award for the second year running.

Fellow center Nikola Jokic won his second-straight MVP title, while Embiid came second. His season, however, was completely deserving of the MVP award, as he posted 30.6 points, 11.7 rebounds, and 4.2 assists. He assisted in guiding his franchise through turbulent times, whether it was the Ben Simmons trade clamor or the arrival of James Harden who wasn’t himself.
However, the Eastern Conference Semifinals was as far as he could carry his squad, as the Miami Heat eliminated them in 6 games.
