The NBA universe is a hotbed of passionate fans, legendary players, and unforgettable moments. It’s a world where debates are as common as slam dunks, and opinions are as diverse as the players themselves. One such debate that has recently ignited the basketball community revolves around a list shared by the 2023 number 1 draft pick, Victor Wembanyama. The French sensation recently revealed his starting five for one particular situation. The list, featuring some of the most iconic names in basketball history, has sparked a heated discussion among fans. However, it’s the notable absences from his list that have the basketball fans polarized.

Victor Wembanyama’s All-Time starting lineup doesn’t include some big names

When asked about his starting lineup to save the planet, the French International took the names of some of the greatest players of all time. The list shared by Wembanyama includes Steph Curry, Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Tim Duncan, and Shaquille O’Neal. Iguodala’s name was hilariously brought up by fans based on one of the most infamous takes in NBA history. Analyst Max Kellerman had once claimed that if the fate of the planet depended on one shot by an NBA star, who would he rather choose? Stephen Curry or Iggy? To everyone’s disbelief, Max chose Iguodala which left everyone in splits. The fans don’t seem to have forgotten that.

While Wembanyama’s list is subjective and based on his personal preferences, it’s clear that the NBA community is as passionate as ever about their favorite players. The exclusion of Kobe Bryant seemed to strike a nerve with fans who have a dedicated following that believes he is one of the greatest players of all time.
