WNBA star Brittney Griner has been open about her sexuality. And she always dresses the way she wants to. But when the WNBA asked her to learn how to use makeup and how to dress, Griner was not pleased. And as she has been a rebel her whole life, she also refused to cross her legs.
Griner has been open about herself since she was in high school and she wanted to wear her own style of clothes. The last dress she wore was back in high school on her mom’s insistence. And ever since then she has preferred to wear suits and men’s style of clothing.

But the WNBA had some mandatory training programs for rookies and a few of them were to learn how to apply makeup and dress for the occasion. And this did not go down well with her.
Brittney Griner refused to take part in the WNBA orientation
After the Phoenix Mercury drafted her as the number one overall pick in the 2013 NBA draft, Griner was supposed to attend an orientation. And the main purpose of it was about makeup application and how to dress. Griner, who always dressed the way she wanted to, refused to be part of it. And her agent also said that she rarely applies any makeup.

Griner was once invited to the Late Night With Conan O’Brien show, and her stylist was the same as Ellen DeGeneres. She said that her stylist had asked her to cross her legs so that it would suit her. But Griner said, “I never cross my legs”. She was also the first female ever to wear a suit on the show.
Griner had to face a lot of criticism for the way she dressed and she also had to face abusive tweets online. But this never stopped her. She continues to wear the clothes she wants at all times. And she proudly expresses herself for who she is.
