After Michael Jordan, Derrick Rose was supposed to be the next big thing for Chicago Bulls. Rose’s start to his NBA career was identical to that of the Bulls legend. Like him, he also won the Rookie of the Year award and became the youngest MVP, too. His knee injury, however, was a massive bump in his career. The ACL injury rendered him not as fit as he was when he first joined the league, despite all the hard work he put in.
Despite preventing him from fulfilling his potential, it’s his acumen that mesmerizes people. Fellow NBA Star, Jamal Crawford, recently showed sympathy toward Rose, not long after claiming his son didn’t get the same level of exposure as Rose’s son because his dad is a barber and his mom a police detective.

Derrick’s son, PJ Rose, displayed his effortless dribbling and precise scoring skills on-court recently, which quickly gained traction. This, however, didn’t sit well with Crawford. He claims that Christopher Underwood Jr. is an extremely special, budding player and the world needs to watch out for him.
He shared his opinion with the media, stating, “Not going to lie this is the media at its finest. My son Christopher Underwood Jr. dropped 20 piece on him and gets no exposure – because his dad is a barber and his mom a police detective.”
But after the unraveling tension from Crawford’s media appearance, he took to his Instagram profile and wrote loving words for the fellow Knicks Guard. Jamal posted a picture recalling his first memory of Rose. He reminisced, “He’s told me in the past I was one of the first pros he ever seen in real life when he was a kid when I was in Chicago at the pro-am, and what that meant to him.”

Further revealing his love for Rose, he stated, “I always make sure to tell D-Rose how much I love him. There’s a very, very, very short list of players I consider one of my favorites to ever play that is younger than me. He’s one of them.” He even cherished their kids moving ahead on their own journey.

Not too long ago, the WNBA legend Candace Parker showered Rose with affectionate words as well at the Adidas Legacy basketball program. The event that started in New York and Los Angeles, recently expanded horizons in Chicago. The program aims at motivating children from underrepresented communities to follow a potential and fulfilling life path.
Growing up, the WNBA legend herself was a part of the Pro-Am events in the past. She was at the program to get a glimpse of Michael Jordan. She says the program motivated her to choose basketball. While recently hosting the program, she did not shy away from showing love for Rose. She spoke about Rose’s impact on his community, and how he’s helped to do the same.
