Los Angeles Lakers legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar recently came out in support of a controversial radio host who has been recently accused of making sexist and objectifying jokes about supermodel Kendall Jenner. Billy Bush, the Extra host, made some crude comments on set about celebrity model Kendall Jenner and her Toy Story-inspired Halloween outfit. In a leaked audio recording, Bush could be clearly heard making some jokes about Jenner while the crew members laughed. This naturally upset fans of the model and various people around the world. However, Abdul-Jabbar carefully assessed the situation and offered his support to Bush in the matter.

Former Lakers and Milwaukee Bucks superstar Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is currently known for providing his noteworthy opinions on issues from around the world. In this case, the former NBA champion turned his attention to the Kendall Jenner and Billy Bush issue.

In a recent article posted on his website, the former NBA champion explained in detail how he feels about the situation while also speaking on whether or not Jenner ruined a children’s movie with her outfit. Billy Bush’s leaked audio contained some jokes where the Extra host commented on Jenner’s revealing outfit. Last Halloween, she posted a picture wearing an outfit from the movie ‘Toy Story’. “Kendall goes as Jessie and, believe me, there were a lot of woodies,” Bush reportedly joked, during the taping of an Extra video.

While many bashed Bush for making sexual jokes about the model, Abdul-Jabbar thought otherwise. Although he slammed the notion of making sexually inappropriate comments and passing them down as jokes, he sided with Bush on this occasion.

According to Kareem, Jenner dressed in a provocative way because it is lucrative for her brand and business. As a result, Bush’s jokes were directed towards the success of her attempt rather than her personally. Additionally, the six-time NBA champion also diminished claims which suggested Jenner had ruined a children’s movie. Interestingly, he put forward a hilarious analogy involving the Lakers and Chris Hemsworth.

Abdul-Jabbar wrote in his article, “Some have condemned Jenner for “ruining a children’s movie,” which also makes no sense. The Toy Story movies still exist and Jesse’s sweet and fierce character is not affected in the least by how a celebrity dresses for Halloween. If Chris Hemsworth wore nothing but a bedazzled Lakers jockstrap for Halloween, he would not have ruined basketball.”

While summing up the argument, he also asserted that people need to make sure they do not get overzealous while calling out people for their supposed wrongdoings. In other words, Abdul-Jabbar rejected the accusations of The Daily Beast that Bush was trying to objectify Jenner with his crude sexual innuendos.

Billy Bush had no malicious intent behind his jokes

Following the leaks, Billy Bush has come under a lot of fire for his comments. Apparently, he has come out and spoken about the situation at hand.

According to sources, he had no ulterior motives while cracking the joke apart from working on the material for his show. While it seems Bush has cleared up his stance, Kendall Jenner is yet to speak out.
